<p class=" text-gray-200 text-base sm:text-lg leading-relaxed mb-3">Cesium is looking for a Backend Developer specializing in back-end web development. You will help build the Cesium platform by designing and implementing web services, infrastructure, and more.</p>
<p class=" text-gray-200 text-base sm:text-lg leading-relaxed mb-3">Cesium powers thousands of 3D geospatial and metaverse applications worldwide and handles over 50 million daily requests. We’re looking for an experienced developer to help us scale to the next 50 million and beyond.</p>
<p class=" text-gray-200 text-base sm:text-lg leading-relaxed mb-3"><strong class=" font-semibold">What you’ll do</strong></p>
<ul class=" text-base sm:text-lg marker:text-color list-inside list-disc text-gray-500 list-disc list-outside pl-3 mb-6">
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Build and ship software. Expect to code every day for most of the day.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Be involved in every facet of Cesium platform engineering: from design to implementation, documentation, testing, and maintenance. From REST APIs, to database schemas, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Collaborate closely with other members of the team, whether in person, on Slack, or on GitHub. Cesium places a strong emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning, and peer review.</span></li>

<ul class=" text-base sm:text-lg marker:text-color list-inside list-disc text-gray-500 list-disc list-outside pl-3 mb-6">
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">6 years or more of relevant industry experience</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Strong modern Node.js development skills</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Strong understanding of REST API design and implementation</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Experience with AWS services such as Elastic Beanstalk, Batch, CloudFront, S3, and lambda@edge.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container-based development in a Linux environment</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Bonus: Experience with big data, or geospatial data and services</span></li>
