<p class=" text-gray-200 text-base sm:text-lg leading-relaxed mb-3">Torc is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for defining, tracking, and steering the safety of our autonomous driving product. This team performs a central role in the product development process by developing and tracking safety cases for our major releases. Our belief is that measurability is the first step to safety and this role will drive explicit measurability and quantification of safety. The team works closely with product management, system and test engineering, legal and regulatory teams, software, hardware, and safety teams and domain experts.</p>
<p class=" text-gray-200 text-base sm:text-lg leading-relaxed mb-3"><strong class=" font-semibold">What You’ll Do:</strong></p>
<ul class=" text-base sm:text-lg marker:text-color list-inside list-disc text-gray-500 list-disc list-outside pl-3 mb-6">
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Work at the highest levels of abstraction within the product to define design goals and their objectives or key performance indicators.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Develop an automated safety metrics framework to evaluate vehicle-level and/or ADS-level performance.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Quantitatively and qualitatively compare performance across multiple operating environments to help refine the ODD (operational design domain) and product requirements.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Identify data sources and data collection mechanisms for assessing operational performance and the characteristics of operating environments.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Lead and communicate data analyses to provide insights to a wide variety of audiences enabling effective decision making and continual improvement.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Monitor safety, performance and quality trends and work with relevant partners to quickly address technical gaps.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Conduct literature reviews to ensure consistency with industry best practices and standards.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Collaborate with Engineering Managers, PMO (Program Management Office), and all relevant partners to ensure design, implementation, testing, and programs are on track, and regularly drive consensus among diverse partners on technical projects.</span></li>

<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">4+ years of experience in hardware, software, or systems engineering, robotics, data science, or related technical fields.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Experience with performance analyses for HW/SW system, such as reliability, demonstration testing, accelerated validation testing plans, or Weibull analysis.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">2+ years of experience with data analyses or applied statistical analyses, such as data mining, sampling design, analysis of variance, time series analysis, or predictive modeling.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Experience working with large datasets, SQL, and C/C++ or Python.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Familiarity with Cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Ability to understand complex technical systems.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">A hyper attention to detail with an iterative approach in completing enterprise goal.</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal &amp; written).</span></li>
<li class=" leading-snug mb-2 pl-2"><span class="text-gray-200">Willing to travel up to 10% to Torc offices, test facilities, etc.</span></li>
